The Divine Principle, which is the central teaching of Sun Myung Moon, affirms the salvation work of Christ on Calvary’s cross. This fresh examination of Scripture does not attempt to redefine the root of Christian faith, but rather seeks to define and accomplish the fruit of Christian faith.
Just as the people of Jesus’ time failed to recognize him because of their fixed expectations of the Messiah, the same risk exists in the Last Days if people are not spiritually open and humble. New revelations need to be examined carefully. Rather than blindly rejecting new teachings or messengers, we are urged to prayerfully evaluate them with sincere hearts and open minds. Only through such an attitude can we recognize and participate in the fulfillment of God’s Will for humanity.

The problem of original sin pervades all humanity. As a result of the Fall, our bodies have been engrafted into the lineage of Satan.
One of the key objectives of the Messiah is to solve this problem of original sin; He must begin a process that will allow for all of humanity to completely sever their lineage with the false father and engraft themselves to the lineage of the True Father.
The apostle Peter is stating that the New Testament Age church is being guarded in their faith until the final stage of salvation, which will be revealed in the “last time,” which is obviously referring to the return of Christ.
Spiritual salvation was given with the victory of Christ’s love and forgiveness on the cross, despite the people having failed in their portion of responsibility. Even with the victory of the cross, however, Christians still pass original sin onto their children. Passages such as Gen. 1:31, Gen. 2:17 and Gen. 6:6-7 clearly demonstrate that the transmission of original sin was not meant to be part of God’s original plan.

Acts 3:21 indicates that there must be a fullness of salvation that is given to all who receive Christ at His Second Coming. This future complete salvation—both spiritual and physical—will be offered as God’s Grace when Christ returns.
In the “Parable of the Tenants” (Matthew 21:33-46), Jesus clearly communicates to the chief priests and Pharisees that God’s Kingdom will be taken from them, and given to another people who will produce its fruit.
In Matthew 24:27, Jesus is stating that just as lightning comes from the east and shines to the west, so too will the Second Coming begin in the east and shine towards the west.
Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. Matthew 21:43
It is seen in Rev.7:2 that an angel, who holds the seal of the living God1, ascends from the rising of the sun, which is in the east. The seal is used to represent the king’s authority elsewhere in Scripture (e.g. 1 Kings 21:8, Esther 8:8, Daniel 6:17). The fact that the angel possesses the seal of the King of all kings signifies that we are to accept His authority in proclaiming that Christ will come from the east.
The idea that Christ should have established a lineage during His ministry on earth may be shocking for some. Of course, when the cross is seen as the ultimate fulfillment of God's Will for His Son, anything that did not take place within the ministry of Jesus is naturally interpreted as something that was never supposed to happen from the foundation of the world.
However, based on the overwhelming evidence that Jesus' primary desire was not realized (see “Mission of the Messiah” from Exposition of the Divine Principle), we have concluded that Christ was not supposed to be crucified. Instead, Christ, as the Second Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45-47), does not come to negate or change God’s original vision for humanity, but rather comes to fulfill it. As such, to completely realize the original ideal of creation, the Messiah must be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), thus establishing God’s lineage on the earth.
This fact that the Messiah is destined to establish a lineage is attested to by the prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah.
The verse from Isaiah 9:6, a messianic prophecy written around 700 BC., foretells the coming of a divine ruler who bears the mantle of authority of governing i.e. ruling with sovereign power, wisdom, and stability. Due to Jesus’ premature death on the cross, the establishment of Christ’s governance has been delayed until his Second Coming. The Constitution of the United States of Cheon Il Guk, written by Sun Myung Moon's successor, Hyung Jin Sean Moon, according to His direction, is a Christ-centered set of political principles for the governance of God's nation. It exists as the fulfillment of Old and New Testament prophecy, as well as Jesus' fervent prayer, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven" (Matthew 6:10).
Although this Kingdom has not yet been established, this document will provide the governing principles that will serve as the charter of the New Jerusalem. It will sprout as a tiny mustard seed (Matthew 13:31-32) to eventually cover the entire world with its blessings.

Ever since Jesus ascended into Paradise, Christians have been awaiting the return of the Savior. By examining the last 2000 years of Biblical history through the Principles of Restoration, we can discern that the Second Coming occurred sometime between 1917 and 1930 (see “Parallels of History” from Exposition of the Divine Principle).
The 20th century has provided copious examples of the fulfillment of Isaiah 5:20’s warning: e.g. the spread of moral relativism, totalitarian ideologies, cultural shifts like the sexual revolution, and persecution of Christian faith.
With the revolutionary medium of television, the global visibility of Sun Myung Moon was achieved through technology rather than supernatural spectacle. Television was a 20th century tool which helped democratize the messianic message, enabling "every eye" to receive the words of the returning Jesus. Critics may dismiss this as contrived, but it elegantly resolves ancient prophecy with modern reality. Rev. Moon's fleshly advent, amplified by broadcast, made the invisible God visible to all (John 1:18). In the 21st century, the internet has overtaken television as the primary tool for instant global access to the teachings and ministry of Sun Myung Moon.

After his encounter with Jesus Christ at age 15, Rev. Moon spent the next nine years (1935-1944) ceaselessly studying Scripture, immersing himself in fervent prayer and rigorous fasting. Rev. Moon’s revelations were organized into the Divine Principle, a systematic theology which unlocks many secrets of the Bible. This exposition provides a logical framework for reconciling religion (internal truth) with science (external truth), furnishing clear resolutions to biblical enigmas: e.g. the cause of the human Fall, why a perfect God allows imperfection, the purpose of Jesus' crucifixion, and the necessity of his Second Coming.
